MOTHERHOOD: Guts or Womb?

It’s every sane woman’s dream
As they bring joy flowing like a stream
Tossed into the air and caught with caring grip
Despite the stress for each of us she cares to strip.
The rare commitment she as always shown
Epitome of her motherhood nature we’ve always known.

What defines a mother? A puzzle to solve
A question that to some need no resolve
A child is a seed of the WOMB no doubt
But is that what motherhood is all about?
The pressure of nine months is no doubt tough
The measure of what comes after- surely rough

The comfort of the womb all received with joy
But the GUTs of a mother many didn’t enjoy
A story the homeless and motherless can tell
As the daring guts of their mother they never felt
In these guts we find our first vending machine
In this same rare gut we see our first linchpin

Always there to sacrifice even at gunpoint
A decision many with balls can’t confront
It takes guts to stay up through sleepless night
Motherhood for her child keeps up the fight
For some it takes guts not to give up and walk away
Despite the pains and abuse in the marriage, endures to stay.

Guts not just womb defines a mother
Guts not just womb is what matters
The abandoned child like others came from a womb
But unlike the others, the guts of a mother -never to come
A child with a mother may also cry and wail in thoughts
But He can relish the embrace of a mother with GUTs!

HAPPY MOTHER’s DAY- Dedicated to my mother, my wife and all true mothers who travailed in pain stayed up, stayed and show their guts!
