WHAT COULD I HAVE BEEN IF I HAD NO FEAR?
My thoughts travelled so many light years in reverse as I listened to my Pastor articulate those 10 words rhetorically as he vibrantly (as usual) spits the words of his sermon. As those words hit my eardrums and sends thoughts through my nerves and cerebrum, my mind can only exhumes dead dreams and vision- plans and ideas that never saw the light of the day- Stillbirths they were. They were terminated by discouraging thorns (words and situation) even before they could find their roots in the imaginative soils of birthed ambitions, talk less of reaching their anticipated and possible prime.
But truly what if I never had NO FEAR? What or who could I have been or turned out to be if I had no fear? What could I have been if I had no fear and confronted my doubts like David before Goliath I asked myself Seth, What if I had been a little more persistent and fearless- disregarding seemingly obvious obstacles and give it yet another try or push it up another notch? What if I had no fear? What/who could Eliab (David’s eldest brother) had become if he had no fear and confronted Goliath.
My thoughts moving faster that an electric train, scanning through what could have been if I had no fear. We can only imagine what could have been but must we continue to saddle ourselves with imagination of what could have been as we can do without some fear and take that decision to move outside our comfort zone today to avoid asking the question- WHAT COULD I HAVE BEEN IF I HAD NO FEAR? David didn’t have to ask that question later because he decided to leave the back-side of the of the grazing field, where he was used to a s shepherd boy and a psalmist. He left the sheep with another keeper (Whose name was never mentioned maybe because he never left his own comfort zone or because he never become prominent is he had his fears.
Like David, carry your lunch packs, your sling, pick your own stones, brace yourself, take the steps, rehearse your speech, and disregard ill-history or discouragement- be firm, re-affirm your faith, let your proposals be known, be encouraged by your other smaller successes (Beers and Lions) - drop some weight of pressure and unproven methods that seems like the only ideal way of doing it ( Saul’s Armor) as you stick to your plan and believe but above all DROP YOUR FEARS AND STEP OUT TO THE FIELD AND PRESS FORWARD! Only then you will realize WHO YOU ARE BECAUSE YOU HAD NO FEAR!
N.B
I hope as I also work towards this note, I can also rediscover myself and fight my own FEARs -
