PERSEVERANCE

Perseverance is genius covered in a resolute mind Genius is infinite patience. It is the protracted string of persistence. It does not pay to hurry... With the continuous heating and cooling of the rocks, it quakes Its sheer doggedness covered in purpose. It’s the high point of diligence and commitment. It’s what differentiates men from men. It’s the explanation of our response to adversity. In the presence of adversities some grow wings others buy crutches. A wise man would let the fire do its work on the iron. He allows heat for as long as possible before he strikes. So, perseverance comes first above talent, even above genius! NIGHTFALL

Image
The busy day comes to a winding end The part of the day that completes several bends Man, oh man! Come to your lonely beds Joyous or saddened you come to lay your heads Nightfall, the inevitable part of our lives The prospects of the day has been viewed The problems of the previous have been reviewed. The lights that dim our shadow is screwed The moments we wished were smoked like weeds Nightfall highlights our various strives Nightfall it is, not windfall Nightfall it is, yet a pitfall The presence of which we fear to walk-tall Experience of tears with great-fall Nightfall, oh! What a stab of knives. Preceded by a cloud of darkness Conceived in so much wickedness Pre-conceived to bring rest and kindness Oh man! Thou art thrown in so much shrewdness Nightfall! we believe ater you strike, we come alive! Written By Seth Ogungbemi ©sethorunzi all rights reserved by Seth Ogungbemi

WHAT COULD I HAVE BEEN IF I HAD NO FEAR?

Image
My thoughts travelled so many light years in reverse as I listened to my Pastor articulate those 10 words rhetorically as he vibrantly (as usual) spits the words of his sermon. As those words hit my eardrums and sends thoughts through my nerves and cerebrum, my mind can only exhumes dead dreams and vision- plans and ideas that never saw the light of the day- Stillbirths they were. They were terminated by discouraging thorns (words and situation) even before they could find their roots in the imaginative soils of birthed ambitions, talk less of reaching their anticipated and possible prime. But truly what if I never had NO FEAR? What or who could I have been or turned out to be if I had no fear? What could I have been if I had no fear and confronted my doubts like David before Goliath I asked myself Seth, What if I had been a little more persistent and fearless- disregarding seemingly obvious obstacles and give it yet another try or push it up another notch? What if I had no fear? W
