FELLOW NIGERIANS; How Fellow are we?

Rising from the doldrums of exasperated sleep, I awoke, hoping the early morning rays of light that heralds the birth of a new day, which now pierces my hitherto tightly shut eyes will herald me into a different nation where all man and citizenry can truly say I LOVE MY COUNTRY or like the sport wear designer-NIKE (team before self) COUNTRY BEFORE SELF or better still, I can truly hear and evidently see in truism-MY FELLOW NIGERIANS. During our 49th anniversary I wrote on the first part... FELLOW NIGERIANS, being one of the most used clichés by politicians, political offices holders especially presidents of our 'GREAT COUNTRY' (...chuckles), a cliché now used beyond or is it bereaved of its actual semantic representation be it connotatively or denotatively. I wrote on how the phrase ' fellow Nigerians' no longer meant every man, woman, male or female, child or adult who possess the rare (now almost accidental) privilege of being a citizen either by birth, natur
