WHO TOOK MY TOYS?

Image
I grew up hippy like every young little boy Had many unending fun with my boys and toys Tried to be smart and threw in some coy. Foes and Friends brought me hurt and joy Failed and exhaled like fading washed soil My emotions protracted sometime with a coil I sought more attention from all as a Brat-spoil Two-faced like a flying, flapping, flipping coin I sought for soothing spots like a player's groin Forgot today will come without any ploy So I kept expecting I'll always have my toys Alas far gone are my days of being a boy The reality I never envisaged, stares plain and noir I simply can't decipher where to find my toys. Because I never knew who abruptly took my toys! Best of the class now like an insignificant soy Chant of glorification  halted with crucification hoys. Exasperated I quizzed, who took my toys? My hands now void of my toys is saddled with loys, To carve out any and everything but not my toys Same gestures that got me toys now gets me

THEY TOO ARE HUMANS (3)

They are obstructed with oppositions They have dreams and propositions They are put in some classifications With or without any consultations Their glances are with obstructions Their chances are on slim positions All they are faced with is confrontations Yet left with no iota of consolidations But, they too are humans.

THEY TOO ARE HUMANS (2)

Saddled with unrivaled responsibilities  Hoping for unreserved opportunities Even though having many in-capabilities Yet without doubt with rare abilities Unfortunately hunted by disparities Many issues they have in their diversities All these bring so many anxieties. We rate them in mere obscurities. But... they too are humans @sethorunzi 2006

FRIENDLY JUDAS

Image
Friends are more than that close individuals to us, sometimes they are those people that have grown with us been there through it all and help us blot-out the line between family and non-family. They are those people who are not family but family enough to be considered and seen as one. But friendship can be gone sometimes like a beautiful fresh flower that is suddenly withered by one single act… Iscariot had a son like any other, with joy and gladness he was welcomed to humankind and he was named Judas like many before him. Grew up, had his good days, crawled, walked and ran. He made friends and meet Jesus, named among the special twelve but had one flaw…. One not curbed- one that was nurtured with inordinate affections. Not restrained but fossilized and allowed to blossom into something costly… Selfishness and greed are like a twin conceived in the same womb.  When self is placed before others we become greedy and when we become greedy we become excessively needy and becomes compelle

SURULERE

Enraged and frustrated,   Fred walked up to the front desk officer when   he was told he will have to wait for the next flight as  he had  just missed his flight . The reality was not only that he had missed his flight but the chance to attend the  the final stage of his job interview, because the flight had to leave as  was   fully booked and boarded. Caught between whether to scream, shout or cry, he stayed emotionless on the surface, so confused that he could barely utter a word; having gone through the stress of traffic from his Bode Thomas,  Surulere  apartment to the MM2 airport in Ikeja.  While Fred was still fuming with rage of what  he may have lost, the Lady Front Desk Officer   smiled courteously and simply  said    “we are sorry sir…”  rather than calming him, those words only made him   further   infuriated   as he   cut her before she could finish her programmed response to irate clients……. while   trying not to stutter, he   managed to say   “ is that all you will say?
