REMINISCENCE (…Year ending)
Time flicks, tricks and ticks
Moments come and we chrome
Events in our memories flips and trips
Seconds, minutes, hours, weeks and months trickle, twinkle and tinkle
Seeing 2010 came 365 days ago, we had ego, tried to grow or let go, and got gold
Candle light in the wind, sand from a beach, torn in the flesh-clown, crown and gown all in our town
We shared our story, rejoice in glory, wept at gory, had amongst many a worry, received and said sorry.
Not Jos-tified, Boko-Maiduguri, Niger Delta and Abuja amongst others- storms, bombs-blast, bumps, blobs.
Sick to be late President, ruling Kabal- Nation on auto-pilot- Kaita-carus & Aiye-d-miss World cup- women team in victory
Acting and substantial President, Sanusi & Senate, INEC & missing DDC machines, Re-election & selection
6000 Mega Watts- Not Realistic, Power we still cant be-holding, Strikes, Fuel Scarcity but a nation at 50 still unfolding
What is seen is what is known not what should have been… we fall, crawl, sprawl, but we stood tall
We visited, called, text, wrote, face-booked, tweeted and mailed- kept social and business strings going
Goals scored and conceded, battles won and lost, Profit gained and lost, was ill but recovered.
Made Noise, Prayed,, preached, praised, sang, drummed, danced, shouted & screamed- connect spiritually.
Advised, counselled, fixed and cancelled appointments, attended & administered interviews, had reiews & saw previews
sometimes we were evicted, rejected, ejected & dejected- Suffered loss or fought a cause, abused, refused, confused.
We hurt, fought, sought, tought, went to court, showed our guts, felt insults, had our faults, had droughts but had comfort.
We showed some tricks, had our chrome, made some trips, got and lost gold but we were not alone.
had friends, foes flaws, enemies, frenemies, family, bonds & bounds but never alone
Through it all… IF IT HAS NOT BEEN THE LORD WHO WAS ON OUR SIDE?
AT THE END... WE ARE STILL STANDING!
WISHING YOU ALL A BETTER NEW YEAR 2011
Thank you all for being part of my 2010 experience
