CHRISTMAS; Where We Fall

All over the world, there is none like it; within all its spheres and ramification. There are so many celebration and so many dates to which we keep tabs on. From the mountains in Kilimanjaro to the highest point of the Everest, It is celebrated with so much consistency with different distinctiveness from the rest. From the deepest part of the pacific to the furthest end of the Nile its felt and adored. Irrespective of the different race, tribe or colour, it’s acknowledged and revered. There is a Christ who’s Mass (Christ-mass) and service cannot be overemphasized or shy away from. There is a season dedicated to him gloriously. Since its inception, there has been no exception. The purpose of God-made-flesh made the world’s chronological timing to be splited into two halves. Before Christ (B.C) and Ano Dominos (A.D)- the year of our Lord-after the death of Christ. This brings us to the question that we would most often than not ask as regards B.C and A.D. Which Christ is referred to in B.C and Which Lord is referred to in A.D?

The world, by default celebrates and recognizes by letter that there is a Christ in B.C and a Lord in A.D yet the same world he created and came to die for try to shy away from the truth via consistent and deliberate delusion. His birth is marked on the calendar with merry and celebration every season but the reason for the Season is most often than not ignored with sheer laxity- ‘For men love darkness (self delusion, lie and deception) far above light (plainness, truth, and reality).’ The truth is there is a reason for the season, whether we call it Yuletide or Christmas. Irrespective of the nomenclature we adopt the question is where do we fall?

Symbolically, His arms were wide spread on the cross, with one arm reaching to our past and the other reaching to our future, between both poles of our existence He stood and still stands. Similarly, He stands between our time, between what we call B.C and A.D living us with choices to make to justify His stands by our stands. There is the ONE who is the reason for the season. As we celebrate the Christmas season, can the reason for the season be celebrated? Can He celebrate us as much as we religiously keep tab on our calendar to mark each Christmas day? HE would hope that we keep that on our mind, the reason for his birth, life, death and resurrection vis as vis his ministry help us make a stand as regard where we fall.

Seasons Greetings to you all!
