FRIENDLY JUDAS

Friends are more than that close individuals to us, sometimes they are those people that have grown with us been there through it all and help us blot-out the line between family and non-family. They are those people who are not family but family enough to be considered and seen as one. But friendship can be gone sometimes like a beautiful fresh flower that is suddenly withered by one single act…

Iscariot had a son like any other, with joy and gladness he was welcomed to humankind and he was named Judas like many before him. Grew up, had his good days, crawled, walked and ran. He made friends and meet Jesus, named among the special twelve but had one flaw…. One not curbed- one that was nurtured with inordinate affections. Not restrained but fossilized and allowed to blossom into something costly…

Selfishness and greed are like a twin conceived in the same womb. When self is placed before others we become greedy and when we become greedy we become excessively needy and becomes compelled and saddled with the need to do anything to satisfy our needs, the line between want and need suddenly becomes blur while the world suddenly contains no one but you! Nobody else matters or exists but you. Selfishness and greed has a tragic simile, like the twin-tower they go up together and crash down together.

With a warm friendly hug embracing a friend and a brother, yet with a cold-blooded act snitched and sold the same friend and a brother. The act of treachery has been mastered by mankind, which makes man the most dangerous specie of animal living. A traitor was never born a traitor it’s a choice people make, a flaw ignored, selfishness exalted. The same step that one takes to embrace a friend can be the same step taken to disassociate from a friend in betrayal.

Judas for 30 pieces of silver embraced perfidy became the source of sedition, with a warm friendly cheeky kiss snitched on a friend and a brother. Traitors are everywhere some of us ironically have be one on different scale to others and have been on the receiving end at some other times but the scriptures in spite of this, asked that we still pray for them, even those who despitefully use us.  Some call it frenemies, some call it friendly foe but I call it friendly Judas…Be good and be you irrespective of them… friendly Judas.
