IT’S ALMOST MIDNIGHT…

Image
It’s almost Midnight, a few more strike on the clock…several amplified tick-tack, tickling and freckling the very fiber connected to every muscle attached to the ossicle bones of our ears. It’s almost Midnight, that time that defines the fate of our Cinderellic odyssey with luck and fortunes running out, fear replaces fantasy. It’s almost Midnight… Our Cinderella must retreat to bed and wake up to reality. The grace and elated boom of the moments before are replaced with the solitary gaze and gloom. It’s almost Midnight, the very moments that defines our true existence and tests the resolve of our ingenious and artistic depth. The time that explains how much we had lived and how few or much we may have achieved and remind us how far we are to the mark as we are faced with a startled gaze of reality. It’s almost midnight that moment when all activities swiftly are paused and rewind to undo- freezed and we can only look forward to confronting our realism like a free flowi...

WE REACT- WE OCCUPY

Image
Its not a crime to be poor...One day the poor will have nothing left to eat but the rich Facial muscles squeezed with elastic stretch Grinding teeth coupled with clinched fist Anger fueled by hungered stomach Eyes blaze with fire like horrid skit Sweaty Palms cranked to every arcs Ached Elbows in akimbo and its marks Roaring at every words that fuel our passion Recalling how we’ve been fooled without caution Spits occasionally spilling out Voice blasting with irrepressible shout Arms carrying placards and clubs Venting and cursing without curb Enough is enough as we’re hard-pressed to reach the limit No longer able to live with their economic indiscreet Realizing we actually own that we now starve for Now ready to fight not just for our present but future (Dedicated to everyone who stood up and still stand against corruption & bad leadership) Written By: Seth Ogungbemi ©sethorunzi All rights reserved by Seth Ogungbemi

The cabal, imperialist & corupt govt officials should note...THERE COMES A TIME WHEN THE POOR WILL HAVE NOTHING TO EAT BUT THE RICH #occupy I av an idea! Since d so called 'Cabal' is more powerful than this Govt, then I suggest we impeach d Govt & d Cabal takes over!#cabalmyfoot Listening to the great FELA's Basket Mouth-" this uprising will bring out the beast in us" I hope it brings out the best in us #occupy! Humility is not stupidity but its strength upon control_ T.D Jakes... GEJ giving in to d people's wish isn't weakness but strength in itself I am very worried at d rate at which d proponents of subsidy removal insult our Individual & corporate intelligence with fallacious figu...

WHISPERING THUNDER

Whispers of thoughts Thunders of excitements Walls high up in our faces Resistance in different phases Pondering on how fast things can change Can’t phantom pains Can’t put together gains Wishes, is all we have and live with Realizing our dreams has gone wilt Wondering if there could ever be an exit Our pains are within the walls of our hearts Put the lighting and thunders wrecks our earths Worries may not be heard like a whisper But their effects are like resounding thunders Hoping one day, this siege will cease to rage Sometimes all we need is an important embrace Within this inner thundering rage to find Solace To the rock of age we run to escape this cage Hands stretched out reaching out for leverage To one day, soar above our whispering thunder! FELLOW NIGERIANS; How Fellow are we?

Rising from the doldrums of exasperated sleep, I awoke, hoping the early morning rays of light that heralds the birth of a new day, which now pierces my hitherto tightly shut eyes will herald me into a different nation where all man and citizenry can truly say I LOVE MY COUNTRY or like the sport wear designer-NIKE (team before self) COUNTRY BEFORE SELF or better still, I can truly hear and evidently see in truism-MY FELLOW NIGERIANS. During our 49th anniversary I wrote on the first part... FELLOW NIGERIANS, being one of the most used clichés by politicians, political offices holders especially presidents of our 'GREAT COUNTRY' (...chuckles), a cliché now used beyond or is it bereaved of its actual semantic representation be it connotatively or denotatively. I wrote on how the phrase ' fellow Nigerians' no longer meant every man, woman, male or female, child or adult who possess the rare (now almost accidental) privilege of being a citizen either by birth, natur...

THE HORROR OF TERROR

The human face with a reflection of a beast Clean shave with Beastial make up Weakling feet and arms rotting mean feat Resident evil guised in boisterous evil face up Un-humanly unleashing his terror Our humanity is now very much bereaved Our chances at redemption no longer conceived A troubled killer man on rampage- serial killer A diabolical killer one on carnage- ritual killer Obstreperously showing his horror The human life is now treated with levity Our life is choked of its essence and serenity Life we cannot give is taken with un-fazed ease All for selfish undefined reason without cease Personifies the rot in the depth of this terror. For our peace they gave us unsolicited terror For our dreams they exchanged with horror When will all these nightmare and evil end? How do we negotiate this treacherous bend? What do we have to give to end this horror? Can we resort to mosaic law and disposition Terror for terror, hoping it takes us out of this position? ...
